Adecco Creative and Marketing has partnered with a women’s fashion house to hire a CAD Artist.

This is a part-time contract, onsite 2 days/week in Times Square. You will work two days/week with the potential for additional hours in the future. The pay is $50-$65/hr.

About the Position

The CAD Artist will have a creative outlook and be responsible for the design and production of original art, recolorizations and repeats for seasonal pattern and print development.

Creative skills and tasks

• Work with Design/Concept teams to review pattern/color trend direction and interpret into artwork appropriate for the brand

• Ability to create artwork using different types of rendering – including hand drawing and painting, textures and vector drawings

• Ability to develop textural artwork for patterns, plaids and yarn dye fabrics

• Create prints through original work or importing purchased files, cleaning, indexing, and placing prints into rotary or screen size repeats

• Create digital and/or physical visual presentations of the team’s work

• Communicate and collaborate with broad design team on developing placements and releasing print/pattern info

Organizational/ Technical skills and tasks

• Prepare artwork with clear and concise information for production

• Provide artwork that follows repeat size requirements and shows concern with compositional balance

• Keeping track of and meeting individual and collective deadlines

• Provide accurate print and color information, in both printed and digital format, for internal and external partners

• Match color standards for printed output

In addition to tasks and responsibilities the artist must be able to take in and respond to feedback. It is essential to be acquainted with all the artwork being developed by the team in each season, so as to facilitate collaboration. Ability to take full ownership of the tasks described is crucial.

Requirements

• BA Degree in Design or Textile Design

• Experience in Textile Design with a strong sense of textile development process from conceptualization to finished design

• Advanced Illustrator & Photoshop skills

• Experience with Ned Graphics

• Strong creative ability

• Strong sense of color for the creation of colorways and the ability to match colors accurately

• Strong organizational, time management and communication skills

• Knowledge of repeat patterns, textile printing, yarn dye reproduction

• Experience with a range of textile media

• Self-starter, can work independently with minimal supervision

• Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment
