[FASHION] Category Manager – Women’s Western WearRole Overview
We’re looking for a Category Manager to build and scale our Women’s Western Wear category end-to-end — from identifying what’s trending to ensuring designs are production-ready. This role sits at the intersection of fashion, data, and execution.
You will be responsible for translating market demand into a strong, sellable collection — fast.
Key Responsibilities
1. Market Intelligence & Trend Mapping
- Track global and local fashion trends across platforms (social, marketplaces, streetwear, influencers)
- Decode what’s actually sellable vs just visually appealing
- Identify gaps in the current assortment and define opportunity areas
2. Collection Planning
- Build tight, high-conviction collections (not bloated catalogs)
- Define styles, silhouettes, fabrics, color palettes, and drops
- Ensure alignment with brand direction and target audience
3. Pricing & Commercials
- Work backwards from target price points and margins
- Benchmark competition and define winning price bands
- Collaborate with sourcing/manufacturing to ensure feasibility
4. Product Development Coordination
- Work closely with:
- Fit Technicians for measurements and garment fit standards
- Pattern Masters and Tailors for translating designs into accurate patterns
- Review samples and iterate quickly to reach final design
5. Sample to Production Readiness
- Ensure designs are production-ready (fit, construction, costing locked)
- Maintain clear tech packs / documentation for execution
- Minimize sampling cycles through sharper inputs
- Work alongside with tech to digitize all the production ready designs
6. Speed & Execution
- Drive fast turnaround from concept → sample → production
- Operate with a strong bias for action and iteration
What We’re Looking For
- Graduate in Fashion Design, preferably from NIFT, with strong portfolio and proficiency in Design skills & technology.
- 3–6 years experience in fashion category/product management (women’s western preferred)
- Strong understanding of silhouettes, fabrics, and garment construction
- Commercial mindset — understands what sells, not just what looks good
- High ownership and ability to work cross-functionally with tech + ops
- Ability to balance taste with numbers
