Overview
The Category Officer plays a key role in managing and optimizing the performance of assigned product categories. This includes overseeing sales trends, product assortment, planograms, pricing strategies, and promotional activities. By analyzing market data, competitor insights, and customer preferences, the Category Officer ensures the right products are available at the right time and price to maximize sales, enhance customer experience, and drive business growth. This role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to align category strategies with overall company objectives.
Your Overall Mission & Day-to-Day
Sales Analysis and Reporting
• Compile, analyze and report sales, competitor, customer, and market data by maintaining up-to-date sell through files.
• Review, analyze and leverage historical data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Provide recommendations to achieve the company’s sales and inventory goals.
Assortment Management
• Identify gaps in the assortment by doing competitor checks offline and online.
• Rationalize the assortment of the assigned category based on sales performance and inventory levels.
• Customize the assortment per store/market based on store/market profiles.
• Create the promo assortment for all campaigns and sale events based on agreed promo matrix.
• Ensure timely enrollment of SKU and price changes across all channels.
• Align with Marketing regularly to ensure timely enrollment and proper execution of promotions.
• Keep the SKU Masterfile updated and ensure accuracy and completeness of all SKU tags.
• Approve all stock withdrawal requests from other departments based on agreed quantity and inventory levels.
Planogram Management
• Align with Visual Merchandising and Demand Planner regarding planogram and assortment for each store based on module design, launch timing and inventory levels.
• Ensure compliance of planogram by doing store checks and alignment with store operations.
• Review and analyze the impact of planograms on sales and inventory.
Pricing Management
• Review and analyze product positioning, competitor pricing, and market expectations.
• Recommend strategic promotion strategies that align with the company’s sales, inventory, and margin goals.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Fashion Merchandising or related field.
• At least 1 year of category management experience.
• Must be passionate about makeup and skincare.
• Strong analytical skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
