As our VP or Merchandising, you will be instrumental in defining and executing the merchandising vision for our growing active and athleisure apparel brand. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that optimize product assortment, drive revenue, and enhance the customer experience across our ecommerce platforms. This is a pivotal role that requires a blend of product knowledge, analytical prowess, creative merchandising instincts, and strong leadership skills.

What You’ll Do:

Develop and execute the overall merchandising strategy aligned with the brand’s vision, target audience, and financial goals.

Lead the product assortment planning process, from concept to launch, ensuring a compelling and balanced offering across all categories.

Analyze sales data, customer insights, and market trends to identify opportunities and make data-driven merchandising decisions.

Collaborate closely with design and production teams to ensure product aligns with merchandising strategies and customer needs.

Partner with the marketing and ecommerce teams to develop and execute effective product presentation, promotions, and campaigns.

Manage inventory levels to optimize sales and minimize risk.

Monitor and analyze competitor activities to inform product and merchandising strategies and maintain pace with the market.

Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure merchandising effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

What You’ll Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Business Administration, or a related field.

8 + years of progressive merchandising experience. A focus on active apparel and/or direct-to-consumer ecommerce is preferred

Proven track record of developing and executing successful merchandising strategies that drive revenue growth.

Deep understanding of the active and athleisure apparel market, including trends, fabrics, and performance technologies.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, draw conclusions, and make data-driven decisions.

Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others, particularly within a small team setting

Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in ecommerce platforms and merchandising tools.

A passion for the active lifestyle and a strong understanding of our target customer.

Must be comfortable with a hybrid work model requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in our NYC office

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
