Clothing Designer – Women’s Swim and Travel Wear Jobs in Washington, UT at Janela Bay – Women, Men’s & Children’s Swimwear
JANELA BAY in Washington City, UT is looking for a LOCAL Fashion Designer / Product Development Specialist who is passionate about swimwear, fashion. (You must work in our warehouse located in Washington City, Utah 20–30 hours per week.) We’re looking for someone with a creative eye and with technical design skills. The ideal candidate understands the Janela Bay brand and customer, follows current fashion and swimwear trends, and can bring fresh ideas for new swimsuits, prints, patterns, colors, and collections.
Responsibilities:
Manage designs from initial concept through final production sample.
Research current and upcoming swimwear and fashion trends, colors, fabrics, prints, and silhouettes.
Work with our team to develop new swimsuit styles and collections.
Create original prints and seamless/repeating patterns.
Create technical flats and design artwork using Adobe Illustrator.
Create and maintain detailed, factory-ready tech packs.
Develop and test new colors, fabrics, patterns, textures, and design details.
Review product samples for style, fit, coverage, construction, and overall design.
Communicate revisions and make changes based on sample and fit reviews.
Ensure design files, measurements, specifications, and production packages are accurate.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience in fashion, apparel, or swimwear design.
Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
Experience creating tech packs, technical flats, and digital sketches.
Ability to create original prints and patterns.
Strong understanding of color, fit, fabrics, garment construction, and design.
A genuine passion for swimwear, fashion, style, and current trends.
Bonus: Previous swimwear experience, experience working with manufacturers, or experience taking apparel from concept through production.
Position Details:
***Must work in our warehouse located in Washington City, Utah 20–30 hours per week. Starting at $25/hour — negotiable based on experience
