We are a Chesham-based company seeking an experienced clothing designer to support the redesign of existing safety workwear products.
This role would suit someone locally based who can work with us on a part-time or consultant basis, bringing both creative and technical expertise to the development process.
Key responsibilities:
- Redesign and refine existing safety workwear garments
- Produce accurate electronic patterns, including grading
- Create and manage digital design files using CAD or similar software
- Develop clothing design concepts into sample prototypes
- Prepare clear technical design information to support sampling and development
- Collaborate with our team to translate product requirements into practical, manufacturable designs
- Support the product development process from concept through to prototype stage
Requirements:
- Proven experience in clothing or garment design
- Strong technical knowledge of pattern cutting, electronic pattern creation, and grading
- Must be confident using CAD or similar software to produce digital garment design files, patterns, and graded specifications
- Experience taking garments from initial concept to sample prototype
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and functional performance
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on a flexible basis
- Ideally based locally to Chesham or within easy reach
Desirable:
- Experience in safety workwear, PPE, uniforms, or technical clothing
- Knowledge of materials and construction methods suited to durable workwear applications
