Role Description This full-time Consultant role is based in Tokyo in a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site collaboration with flexibility to work from home. The Consultant will manage end-to-end recruitment assignments, including client briefings, role scoping, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection support. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and maintaining strong client and candidate relationships, preparing role descriptions and search strategies, and presenting shortlists with clear insights and recommendations. The role also involves conducting market research in the luxury, fashion, and lifestyle sectors, advising clients on talent trends, and contributing to continuous improvement of The Job Tailors’ bespoke, human-centric recruitment approach.
Qualifications
- Experience in recruitment or consulting, preferably within luxury, fashion, or lifestyle sectors, with strong client-facing skills.
- Proficiency in candidate sourcing, interviewing, and assessment, using both traditional and digital tools.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures.
- Ability to analyze market data and talent trends, and translate insights into practical recommendations for clients.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity when handling confidential information.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment in Tokyo, with strong time management and self-organization skills.
- Business-level English; Japanese language skills are a strong advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, human resources, communications, or a related field.
