The marketing department creates and monitors the brand identity of G-Star and is responsible for the development of all G-Star communications worldwide. We are looking for a Creative Content Editor / Copywriter who is a native speaker of English, to work in-house at their headquarters in Amsterdam.
In this role, you will be responsible for writing creative copy for a variety of marketing purposes: from newsletters, online banners and social media posts to press releases, editorial articles and interviews. You will be able to distil the key message and translate this appropriately and consistently across these various outlets. Important is the ability to proofread and edit texts with scrutiny.
You will produce copy that is creatively written to a high professional standard. The candidate selected for this role must have proven experience copywriting within the fashion industry. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also an obvious must. You are open to suggestions and not afraid to challenge or to be challenged. We are looking for someone who is always looking to explore, has the curious mindset of a journalist and a positive attitude.

You will work independently but also close with the Editor in Chief, Digital Designers, Project Managers, and other internal studio members.

You are the gatekeeper of our tone of voice strategy and makes sure it’s executed in an excellent way.
Check copy written by the marketing department + rewrite/edit if necessary.
Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, English Language and Culture, Fashion Branding or similar.
– Native speaker of English (it’s a plus if you speak other languages as well).
– Minimum of 3-5 year experience in copy writing within the fashion industry. Knowledge of fashion terminology, art and design is a plus.
– Ability to write in adherence to brand tone of voice and established style.
– Ability to implement our main messages into texts that appeal to diverse outlets. For example: newsletters, press release, social posts, news articles and short campaign narratives.
– Attention to detail. You’re able to write and rewrite until the message is clear and strong while meeting strict deadlines.
– Ability to take constructive criticism and a flexible nature to keep up with business requirements. You won’t mind multiple edits.
– Creative way of thinking, not afraid to pitch ideas and come up with new (editorial) plans and improvements.
