Job Summary:We are seeking a creative and skilled Graphic Artist who loves to design and has a passion for the Marching Arts. As a key member of our creative design department, you will be responsible for translating the customer’s written and graphic marching show concepts into custom artwork to be applied to apparel. Your expertise in graphic design, attention to detail, and knowledge of garment construction will play a crucial role in creating visually appealing and marketable clothing designs. The ideal candidate possesses a strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in graphic design, an understanding of clothing layout techniques, and a passion for fashion.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the customer and sales team to understand and interpret visual concepts presented to develop artistic design for apparel.
Select appropriate color schemes and coordinate graphic elements.
Transform graphic designs and artwork into clothing layouts, ensuring accurate placement, scaling, and alignment.
Utilize industry-standard graphic design software (such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar tools) to create and edit clothing layouts.
Maintain an understanding of garment printing methods to optimize the visual appeal and functionality of the designs.
Develop and maintain organized files and documentation for each design project, including source files, revisions, and final versions.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in graphic design, fashion design, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Graphic Artist or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing clothing layout designs.
Proficiency in graphic design software, such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar tools.
Understanding of garment construction, fabric properties, and printing methods.
Creativity and a keen eye for aesthetic appeal, color schemes, and design composition.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of current fashion trends, industry developments, and emerging graphic design technologies is a plus.
