About Alluvial Apparel Company
Alluvial Apparel Company is a family-owned, multi-brand fashion business with three active brands and an ambitious roadmap to six brands by 2027. We operate across wholesale, DTC, and e-commerce channels. We are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Controller to build the financial foundation that will carry us through our next stage of growth — and eventually grow into a CFO role overseeing the financial life of the entire business and family enterprise.
About the Role
This is a ground-floor opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who wants to own something real from day one. You will be the sole finance lead inside the business, responsible for keeping our books clean, our reporting sharp, and our NetSuite instance running at full capability. Over time, as you demonstrate leadership and build trust, this role is designed to expand into a family CFO function — overseeing business finances, personal wealth, and investment oversight.

Month-end & year-end close
- Own the full month-end close process across all brands, hitting consistent deadlines
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow
- Manage accruals, prepaid schedules, depreciation, and intercompany eliminations
- Coordinate year-end close and liaise with external CPA firm for tax prep

- Manage chart of accounts and ensure proper coding across brands and departments
- Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with NetSuite support or external consultants as needed
Financial reporting & analysis
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for ownership review
- Develop brand-level P&Ls to support performance analysis across the portfolio
- Track key metrics: gross margin, COGS, inventory turnover, operating expenses by brand
- Support annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes
Compliance & controls
- Ensure sales tax compliance across all states and channels (DTC, wholesale, e-commerce)
- Maintain internal controls appropriate for a growing multi-entity business
- Manage business insurance, licenses, and regulatory filings
Future scope — Family CFO
- Transition into oversight of personal financial accounts, family trusts, and investments
- Coordinate with family wealth advisors, accountants, estate attorneys, and investment managers
- Provide consolidated financial picture across business and personal assets
- Support real estate, investment, and strategic planning decisions with financial analysis
