Design & Development Intern
We are seeking a highly organized, trend-aware Design & Development Intern to join our luxury cashmere brand in Orange County, California. This role bridges the gap between creative design, global product development, and supply chain logistics. You will work closely with our local teams, buyers, and overseas production offices to bring our seasonal collections to life.
What You Will Do
- Trend & Competitor Research: Monitor trend reports and analyze competitor market strategies.
- Palette & Product Development: Assist the buying team in building seasonal color palettes and developing products.
- Archival Styling: Leverage past collections to maintain a strong understanding of our historical styles and colors.
- Global Collaboration: Act as a daily liaison with our Hong Kong office and buying teams to manage sample approvals.
- Tracker Management: Maintain precise logs for proto samples, color metrics, and accessory approvals.
- Sample Logistics: Oversee incoming and outgoing proto and production samples within the California office.
- Line Sheet Maintenance: Organize seasonal line sheets and development recaps.
- Market Week Support: Participate directly in operational execution during California and Hong Kong market weeks.
- Model & Logistics Management: Coordinate logistics for fit models and assist shipping with final sample invoicing.
- System Operations: Create purchase orders and input new style and color data within the Richter ERP system.
What We Are Looking For
- A student or recent graduate in Fashion Design, Product Development, Merchandising, or a related field.
- Excellent organization skills with the ability to manage multiple physical samples and digital trackers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to manage daily overseas correspondence.
- Basic understanding of production logistics, invoices, and ERP databases (experience with Richter is a major plus).
- A highly detailed mindset capable of managing granular tasks like labeling, sticker sorting, and archival lookups.
Internship Details
- Location: California Office (In-Person / Hybrid options available).
- Travel: Potential exposure to regional and international operations (Hong Kong).
- Duration: Seasonal / Semester-based.
Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
