Job Description

As a Designer at Critical Mass, you bring a keen aesthetic eye, focus on craft, and a genuine obsession with how things look, feel, and move. You’ll contribute to work for some of the world’s most recognized brands — from concept through execution, across channels — and you’re here for all of it.

That obsession shows up in the details. You stay close to culture, notice things others don’t, and bring that into everything you make — because you’re the kind of designer who cares more than is strictly necessary. And that’s exactly what we want.

You Will

Concept and execute high-quality design across brand, campaign, and digital experiences — from early exploration to final delivery

Apply rigorous craft across typography, color, hierarchy, composition, interaction, and motion

Work within design systems, component libraries, and visual frameworks, applying them with accuracy and consistency

Interpret briefs and translate direction into well-crafted visual solutions

Build mood boards and visual research to explore and communicate creative direction

Compose and retouch images that communicate ideas clearly and present products at their best

Prototype interactions and experiences in Figma

Use generative AI tools (image, video, audio) as active parts of your creative process

Apply text-based AI to accelerate ideation, concepting, and iteration

Stay current on emerging tools and bring new capabilities to the team

Share and articulate design decisions clearly in internal reviews

Partner with UX, copy, strategy, and engineering throughout the creative process

Contribute to a culture of craft, feedback, and continuous improvement

You Have

1–2+ years of professional design experience at an agency or in-house creative team

A portfolio that demonstrates craft, attention to detail, and a strong design sensibility

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma

Hands-on experience with generative AI and text-based AI tools

Familiarity with design systems and the ability to work accurately within them

A sharp, curious aesthetic sensibility — shaped by genuine engagement with culture, art, fashion, film, music, architecture, or whatever you’re obsessed with

Motion Design Skills (preferred)

Figma prototyping skills (preferred)

The ability to manage your own tasks, stay organized, and deliver on time
