Designer – Home Textiles (Manhattan)

Founded in 1994 we are a premier Manhattan based home textile design and sales company. We successfully market our home textile product lines to major US & International retailers.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Maintain strong sense of Deborah Connolly & Associates (DCA) design aesthetic
- Keen awareness of market and key fashion trends with the ability to translate them in to designs for appropriate product categories for the Bathroom and Kitchen
- Manage and prioritize department responsibilities based on development timelines and production deadlines
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for inspiration, design, and development of bath and kitchen textile designs for branded and private label Bathroom and Kitchen products
- Strong working knowledge of Bath towel constructions and techniques desired
- Implement department strategies and procedures along with overseeing the development process with regard to:
- The creation and sending of product tech packs to factories
- Sample process through final approval
- Maintaining organized design files
- Preparation of presentation materials as needed
- Timely approval of all Product Development, Pre-Production and Production samples
- Establishing and following specified timelines and deadlines
- Prepare presentation materials as needed
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 4 years home textile design experience with a BA in Textile Design
- Must be deadline driven, detail oriented and possess strong communication, organizational and follow up skills
- Expertise with textile software including Stylus CAD, Photoshop and Illustrator
- Expert working knowledge of fabrications such as jacquard and dobby weaving, printing and embroidery with complete understanding of repeat along with technical knowledge
- Excellent color sense and color matching skills

Pay: $75,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
