Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Digital Pattern Maker / Technical Designer to join our design and production team. This role is responsible for translating creative designs into production-ready digital patterns, ensuring accurate fit, construction, and grading across all sizes. You’ll work closely with designers, sample makers, and manufacturing partners to maintain technical accuracy from concept through final production.
Key Responsibilities:Digital Pattern Making
Create first patterns using digital software (e.g., CLO3D, Gerber, Optitex).
Interpret design sketches and garment specifications into technical patterns.
Digitally draft, alter, and finalize patterns for new and existing styles.
Ensure pattern accuracy, proper construction, and efficient fabric usage.
Technical Design & Fit
Develop and maintain tech packs including BOMs, construction notes, and measurement specs.
Conduct fittings on samples, evaluate garment fit, and update patterns/specs accordingly.
Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure alignment between aesthetic vision and manufacturability.
Ensure consistent garment grading across all sizes.
Product Development Support
Communicate clearly with overseas and domestic factories regarding construction details and fit comments.
Review and approve sample submissions (proto, fit, pre-production, top of production).
Maintain pattern and spec libraries with up-to-date documentation and file management.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Liaise with sourcing, development, and quality control teams to troubleshoot issues.
Provide technical insight during design review meetings and prototype evaluations.
Qualifications:
Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Technology, or related field.
3–5+ years experience in pattern making and technical design.
Proficient in one or more digital pattern software systems (CLO3D, Gerber, Optitex, etc.).
Strong understanding of garment construction, grading, and production processes.
Excellent knowledge of fabric behavior and stretch factors.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
Experience working with both knits and wovens preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Hands-on sewing experience—ability to construct sample garments or make manual alterations to prototypes. This skill supports a deeper understanding of garment assembly, construction feasibility, and pattern functionality during development. Candidates with sewing experience can provide clearer guidance to sample makers and better assess construction challenges during fittings.
Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator.
Experience working with overseas manufacturers.
Knowledge of sustainable design and production principles is a plus.
