Petite Keep is a rapidly growing DTC brand on a mission to reimagine keepsakes. We are building a category-defining brand rooted in personalization, craftsmanship, and meaningful moments. As we scale, we are seeking a strategic and data-driven Director of Merchandising & Product Development to own our product vision end-to-end—from concept to customer.
This role sits at the intersection of product, merchandising, and growth, ensuring every product we launch is both emotionally compelling and commercially successful. You will lead the development of our product roadmap, drive SKU productivity, and ensure our assortment is optimized for conversion, margin, and long-term brand equity.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap (30%)
- Own Petite Keep’s product roadmap (6, 12, 24 months), ensuring clear prioritization aligned to business goals
- Identify whitespace opportunities and new product categories to drive growth and expand the brand
- Own the product launch calendar, including timing, sequencing, and prioritization across launches
- Develop clear product briefs that define the “why” and “what” behind each product—grounded in customer insight, brand positioning, and business impact
- Define Good / Better / Best assortment strategy across DTC and Wholesale channels maintaining clarity in positioning while honoring overarching brand positioning
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure alignment between product vision, storytelling, and demand generation
Product Development Execution (25%)
- Oversee the full product lifecycle from design → sampling → production, ensuring a seamless path to launch
- Own timelines and cross-functional alignment across Product, Operations, Brand, and Growth
- Ensure every product meets Petite Keep’s standard for quality, craftsmanship, and differentiation in the market
- Drive accountability across partners and suppliers to deliver on cost, timing, and execution expectations
Merchandising & SKU Performance (30%)
- Own assortment planning, making clear decisions on what to push, pause, expand, or sunset
- Lead pricing and bundling strategy to drive conversion, AOV, and margin
- Partner with Growth to own site merchandising, ensuring the product assortment is presented in a way that maximizes conversion
- Continuously evaluate SKU performance and take action to ensure a focused, high-performing assortment
Launch Calendar Ownership (10%)
- Translate product performance and customer insights into clear decisions on what to scale, iterate, or sunset
- Ensure the launch calendar reflects these decisions, with a steady drumbeat of high-impact, well-prioritized product releases
- Partner with Brand, Growth, and Operations to execute launches that are clear, compelling, and commercially impactful
Team Leadership (5%)
- Build and lead a high-performing team (internal/external) across product development and merchandising
- Establish clear goals, accountability, and performance expectations
- Foster a culture of ownership, curiosity, and attention to detail
What You Bring
- 8+ years of experience in merchandising, product development, or buying—preferably in a high-growth DTC or consumer brand
- Strong analytical and commercial mindset—you understand how product decisions drive revenue and profitability
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end product lifecycle
- Deep understanding of assortment strategy, pricing, and SKU productivity
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple launches and timelines simultaneously
- A strong eye for product quality, materials, and design details
- Natural leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
