Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Product Planning to lead global product planning, portfolio strategy, and commercial alignment across our jewelry business.
This is a senior leadership role designed for experienced professionals with a strong background in product planning, merchandising strategy, and cross-functional business leadership. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in aligning product strategy with market demand, brand positioning, and long-term business growth.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping product direction, optimizing portfolio performance, and ensuring execution excellence across global markets.
Key Responsibilities
Product Planning & Portfolio Strategy
• Lead the development of global product planning strategies aligned with business and brand objectives
• Define seasonal and long-term product assortment strategies
• Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive dynamics to inform planning decisions
• Optimize product lifecycle planning from launch to end-of-life
Cross-Functional Coordination
• Partner with design, merchandising, sourcing, production, and marketing teams
• Ensure alignment between product planning, inventory strategy, and commercial targets
• Facilitate communication between regional and global business units
Commercial Planning & Performance
• Evaluate product performance, sales trends, and profitability metrics
• Support pricing strategy and margin optimization initiatives
• Drive data-informed decisions for assortment and category expansion
• Identify opportunities for revenue growth and inventory efficiency
Supply Chain & Merchandising Alignment
• Collaborate with supply chain and production teams to ensure product availability and timing
• Support demand forecasting and inventory planning processes
• Ensure balance between supply constraints and market demand
Customer & Market Insight Integration
• Translate customer insights and market intelligence into actionable product planning decisions
• Ensure product assortment reflects brand positioning and customer expectations
• Work closely with marketing and retail teams on go-to-market alignment
Executive Reporting & Strategy
• Present product planning insights and recommendations to senior leadership
• Contribute to annual strategic planning and budgeting processes
• Support long-term category and portfolio development strategies
Required Qualifications
• Proven experience in product planning, merchandising, category management, or related leadership roles
• Strong background in luxury goods, jewelry, fashion, or consumer products industries preferred
• Experience working in cross-functional, global business environments
• Strong analytical and commercial acumen with ability to interpret sales and market data
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across teams
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in jewelry, luxury retail, or high-end consumer brands
• Familiarity with global merchandising cycles and supply chain planning
• Experience with data-driven planning tools and forecasting systems
• Strong understanding of retail economics and consumer behavior trends
