Most retail leadership roles involve inheriting established accounts, maintaining distributor relationships and optimising existing revenue.

This isn't one of them.

We're partnering exclusively with one of North America's fastest-growing premium consumer pet brands as it enters the next phase of its growth journey.

Having built an exceptional direct-to-consumer business approaching $100m in annual revenue, the business is now making a significant investment in retail.

To lead that journey, we're looking for a Director of Retail Growth.

This isn't a role for someone who simply manages existing accounts.

We're looking for someone who has built retail businesses.

Someone who has opened major national accounts, developed wholesale partnerships, created commercial infrastructure and played a meaningful role in scaling retail revenue to eight figures or beyond.

You'll have complete ownership of the retail growth strategy across North America.

From identifying the right retail partners and distributor network, to winning new business, negotiating commercial agreements, attending industry events and building the sales function, you'll be responsible for creating one of the company's most important future revenue channels.

Initially, you'll operate as a hands-on commercial leader, working directly alongside the founders.

As the business scales, you'll recruit and lead the retail organisation.

We're particularly interested in people who can demonstrate:

  • A proven track record of building retail and wholesale revenue within a high-growth consumer brand.
  • Experience personally opening major retail accounts and creating new commercial partnerships.
  • A meaningful role in scaling retail revenue to $10m+ annually, either within the pet industry or another premium consumer category.
  • Success in building wholesale functions, distributor strategies or commercial infrastructure from scratch.
  • A naturally entrepreneurial, commercially driven mindset with the hunger to create opportunities rather than inherit them.

Pet industry experience would be highly valued.

However, we're equally interested in exceptional commercial builders from adjacent consumer categories, including health & wellness, food & beverage, outdoor, lifestyle and premium CPG, provided you've successfully scaled retail businesses at pace.
