Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their dry cleaning and alteration needs
- Process garment orders accurately using point-of-sale systems and maintain organized records
- Perform basic alterations such as hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and replacing buttons using sewing machines and garment construction techniques
- Provide expert advice on garment care, fabric types, and alteration options to ensure customer satisfaction
- Handle customer inquiries efficiently, resolving issues with professionalism and a positive attitude
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the counter area, ensuring all equipment is in working order
- Assist with inventory management of supplies like threads, fabrics, and cleaning chemicals
Requirements
- Previous experience in fashion retail or customer service preferred but not required; a passion for fashion is a plus!
- Basic sewing skills including use of sewing machines and garment construction techniques
- Ability to perform alterations such as hemming, seam adjustments, and button replacement with precision
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic demeanor
- Good communication skills to clearly explain services and answer questions effectively
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and measurements accurately
- Willingness to learn new skills related to garment care and alterations
