We’re looking for an Event Styling Intern / Event Stylist Assistant to help bring elevated private parties and themed celebration experiences to life at Kids & Coffee LLC in Carlsbad, California.

What You’ll Do
Event Setup & Styling
- Transform event spaces with furniture, décor, props, snack and beverage displays, and themed details that create a playful, polished, and child-friendly atmosphere
- Set up tables, chairs, signage, themed areas, and decorative elements
- Assist in executing the overall event look and feel in line with each party theme
Event Coordination & Timeline Support
- Help manage the event timeline, including guest arrivals, games, refreshments, activity transitions, and send-off
- Work closely with Kids & Coffee staff to support smooth event flow and café service coordination
- Assist the senior stylist in keeping each celebration organized, on schedule, and guest-ready
Food, Beverage & Display Support
- Prepare and arrange snacks, beverages, and treats in an attractive and safe manner
- Support food and beverage presentation while maintaining cleanliness and organization
- Follow all food safety standards at all times
Guest & Child Experience
- Welcome children and parents in a warm, upbeat, and professional manner
- Help maintain a fun, structured, and memorable party environment
- Support guided activities and assist in creating a seamless guest experience throughout the event
Breakdown & Reset
- Assist with smooth transitions throughout the event
- At the end of each party, help tear down décor, return props and rentals, and reset the space for café operations
Schedule
- Primarily weekends
- Occasional weekday shifts as needed
Pay
- $18/hour, plus tips
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid Food Handler Card, or willingness to obtain one
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
- Comfortable interacting with children and parents
- Positive, reliable, and professional attitude
- Ability to follow directions and support a senior stylist during events
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
Preferred Qualifications, even informally
- Experience in event staging, hospitality, childcare, or kids-focused activities
- Prior experience with private parties, food display, or events
- Interest in event styling, coordination, or hospitality
- Familiarity with visual setup, layout planning, or mood-board thinking
