Job Overview

The Events Manager’s primary responsibility is to build and maintain clients for events experiences in our food and beverage environments. The position will also oversee all event booking, event sales outreach, planning, coordinating, and assisting in final execution. They will work closely with clients, our restaurant teams, and our marketing and events team, hospitably and effectively to grow events in our restaurant department. They will reach out to new business prospects, and work with current leadership on staffing and systems to ensure client satisfaction, and seamless execution of events, capturing repeat clients after genuine exceptional experiences.

Essential Functions

  • Manage F & B Restaurant and Personal Shopping restaurant employees, including people leader responsibilities (hiring, scheduling, attendance policy compliance, supervising, training, disciplining, and performance managing) for a team of Personal Shopping Host.
  • Have 3-5 years full-service restaurant management experience.
  • Be highly organized and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Have experience supervising and directing the workforce, making staffing decisions, interacting with customers and insuring outstanding service and consistent product quality.
  • Be comfortable communicating with customers every day and ensure customers receive outstanding service.
  • Help create, implement, and maintain the new Personal Training F & B program, which will provide luxury complimentary food and beverage service to Bloomingdale’s personal shopping clients.
  • Oversee event inquiries and manage the process from capturing inquiries to securing contracts.
  • Manage and oversee execution of events with all details including rentals, onsite tours, client contact/communication, and event execution.
  • Must have exceptional organization and multitasking skills.
  • Experience with budgeting and reporting a plus.
  • Manage TripleSeat events and offerings database.
  • Collaborate with beverage teams to ensure wines and wine menus are up to date for client needs.
  • Follow up with clients for feedback and develop business by capturing of repeat bookings.
  • Maintain an up to date client database.
  • Work cohesively as a member of the restaurant team, interacting with the service team in a positive manner.
  • Support restaurant managers with day-to-day operations as needed.
    • Purchase food, beverage, supplies, and other catering needs
    • Payables and receivables- process invoicing to ensure timely payment to vendors

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 3-5 years related experience
  • Culinary experience a plus
  • Conversational Spanish a plus
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of Personal Shopping Hosts
  • Ability to manage events operations independently
  • Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple situations simultaneously
  • Ability to manage resources to ensure that established service levels are achieved at all times

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or department
  • May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping and color vision
  • Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions
  • Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs
