We are seeking a Raw Materials Manager to manage the sourcing and development of our fabric and materials. The ideal candidate has a strong network and existing relationships with textile mills, factories, and other raw material manufacturer.
This is a hybrid position with a minimum of 3 days per week required in our Downtown Detroit offices.
Overview:
The Raw Materials Manager is responsible for managing day to day-to-day development of fabrics across all categories to ensure Greyson’s raw materials are at the forefront of the newest technology, creativity, and quality. The role is responsible for the creative development and acquisition of raw materials with a specific focus on luxury performance and technical materials. The RM Manager will liaise with the design, product development, and production teams, to ensure the optimization of raw materials and the contribution to design excellence, evolution, and company probability. This role will report directly to the VP of Design.
Responsibilities:
● Partner with Design to seasonally establish the RM vision for the season across men’s, women’s, and Children’s design
● Lead RM sourcing and fabric development to drive innovation and maintain the highest quality standards
● Build & establish collaborative partnerships with new and existing suppliers
● Establish a digital and physical fabric library
● Validate Fabric data in AirTable and ensure approvals on time.
● Manage tracking of raw materials for sampling and bulk production, and communicate updates between Design, Product Development, Material Suppliers, and Offshore teams.
● Own the end-to-end management of the RM supplier base in partnership with internal stakeholders
● Manage the seasonal review of excess & suggest improvement areas for mitigating risk
● Review supplier performance management feedback & agree appropriate response mechanism
● Ensure effective use of systems and maintenance & accuracy of data
● Oversee RM /Trim cost and lead time negotiations

Key attributes:
• Technical background is highly preferred. In-depth knowledge of fabric production processes as well as familiarity with the supplier’s landscape to provide solutions is required
• Strong influencing/negotiation skills
• Previous experience in managing raw materials in a similar fashion company
• Bachelor’s Degree in Textiles, Design, or related field strongly preferred
