Overview
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Apparel Associate to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about fashion, garment construction, and graphic design. The Apparel Designer will play a crucial role in supporting the design and production of apparel items, ensuring quality and aesthetic appeal while contributing to an engaging retail environment.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the design team to illustrate and develop new apparel concepts.
Potentially – Utilize sewing machines to create prototypes and samples of garments.
Apply knowledge of color theory to select appropriate fabrics and materials.
Assist in garment construction, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
Engage with customers in a fashion retail setting, providing expert advice on products.
Use Adobe Creative Suite for graphic design tasks related to apparel marketing.
Maintain an organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are readily available.
Participate in theater costume design projects as needed, showcasing versatility in apparel applications.
Working directly wit the founder and ultimately the founder is the Chief Designer and has ALL Creative Control over the projects that you will be directly working on.
Requirements
Proficiency in using sewing machines and understanding garment construction techniques.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Strong grasp of color theory and its application in fashion design.
Previous experience in fashion retail or graphic design is preferred but not mandatory.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
A passion for fashion, creativity, and attention to detail is essential.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
