Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive curriculum plans that cover core fashion design principles, including sketching, sewing, fabric selection, and pattern making
- Deliver engaging lessons tailored to diverse student needs, including children, teens, and adults, with a focus on fostering creativity and technical proficiency
- Manage classroom activities to ensure a positive, respectful, and productive learning atmosphere
- Provide individualized tutoring and constructive feedback to support student growth and confidence in their design skills
- Incorporate various artistic disciplines such as photography, theater, ballet, or dance into fashion projects to enhance creative expression
- Organize practical projects that involve sewing, draping, and garment construction while emphasizing safety and proper technique
- Collaborate with students on portfolio development and showcase opportunities to celebrate their achievements
Requirements
- Proven experience in fashion design with a strong portfolio demonstrating creativity and technical skill
- Expertise in curriculum development tailored for different age groups and skill levels
- Prior classroom experience in teaching fashion or related arts such as sewing, theater costume design, or visual arts
- Knowledge of classroom management strategies to foster an inclusive and disciplined environment
- Ability to work effectively with children, teenagers, or adult learners with diverse backgrounds
- Skills in photography, sewing, childhood development, behavior management, and lesson planning are highly desirable
- Experience working with special education needs or early childhood education is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students of all ages
