About the Role
We are looking for a creative and experienced Fashion Designer who can independently design and develop products for designer and luxury fashion brands. The candidate should have a strong understanding of fashion design, patterns, fabrics, garment construction, and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new products and collections according to the brand’s aesthetic and target customer.
- Create design concepts, sketches, silhouettes, styles, and product ideas.
- Understand current fashion trends and develop designs accordingly.
- Select appropriate fabrics, colours, trims, embellishments, and finishes.
- Have strong knowledge of pattern making, garment construction, and fitting.
- Coordinate with pattern masters, tailors, artisans, vendors, and production teams to develop products.
- Create samples and review them for fit, design, construction, and finishing.
- Make necessary changes to samples before moving them into production.
- Coordinate the complete design-to-production process and ensure products are developed within timelines.
- Understand production requirements and ensure the final product matches the approved design.
- Work closely with the merchandising and production teams for smooth execution.
- Maintain consistency in the brand’s design language across collections.
- Research fabrics, techniques, silhouettes, and market trends to bring new ideas to the brand.
- Support the development of commercially viable products based on customer and market requirements.
Skills & Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in fashion designing/product development.
- Experience with designer, luxury, premium, ethnic, or apparel brands will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of patterns, silhouettes, fabrics, garment construction, and production.
- Ability to take a product from concept to final production.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple designs simultaneously.
