We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Fashion Designer specializing in Junior and Young Contemporary apparel. Responsibilities
- Develop original design concepts for junior and young contemporary collections, aligning with current market trends and brand identity.
- Create detailed sketches and technical drawings using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and CAD software to communicate design ideas clearly.
- Select fabrics, colors, and trims based on color theory principles and fashion retail insights to produce cohesive collections.
- Manage the product lifecycle from initial concept through sample development, fitting, revisions, and final production.
- Collaborate with merchandising teams to ensure designs meet commercial goals and align with seasonal themes.
- Oversee garment construction details, ensuring designs are feasible for manufacturing while maintaining quality standards.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging designers, and cultural influences through research in fashion styling, graphic design, theater, and other creative outlets to inspire innovative designs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience or strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in fashion design for junior and young contemporary markets.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), CAD programs, and garment pattern-making software.
- Solid understanding of product lifecycle management processes within the fashion industry.
- Skilled in garment construction techniques, sewing machine operation, and illustration methods.
- Knowledge of fabric properties, sewing techniques, and merchandising strategies relevant to fast-paced retail environments.
- Excellent sense of color theory combined with a keen eye for detail in fashion styling and graphic design.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a creative team environment.
