Role Description
This is a full time on site role for a Fashion Designer, based in Chennai. The Fashion Designer will be responsible for creating innovative and functional designs for uniforms. Their day to day tasks include overseeing the design process, selecting materials, crafting detailed textile patterns, coordinating fittings, and incorporating embroidery techniques into designs. The role also involves collaboration with the production team to bring unique, high-quality uniform concepts to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Research current fashion trends and analyze customer preferences
- Collaborate with the team to develop innovative uniform/workwear concepts
- Create design sketches and CAD presentations for new collections
- Select fabrics, trims, colors, and textures suitable for workwear applications
- Develop detailed tech packs with complete specifications
- Communicate technical design details for sampling and production
- Oversee prototype development and sample approvals
- Create mood boards and seasonal design directions
- Maintain strong coordination with vendors and suppliers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field (preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in fashion design
- Experience in workwear or uniform design is a strong advantage
- Proficiency in CAD/design tools
- Strong understanding of fabrics, garment construction, and fit
- Good time management and attention to detail
