Director, Public Relations – Fashion & Accessories

We’re looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Director of Public Relations to join our thriving Fashion team, working across both men’s and women’s fashion and accessories brands. The ideal candidate will lead and manage the Fashion Division, delivering exceptional results through superior knowledge of the evolving media landscape while motivating and mentoring the divisional team on strategy and goals.

You’ll bring 8+ years of experience across men’s and women’s fashion and accessories, including at least 4 years in a senior leadership role at an agency or in-house. You have a proven roster of senior-level editorial contacts spanning fashion, accessories and luxury lifestyle press, and know how to negotiate and secure features, executive profiles, trade stories, product placement and ongoing coverage for clients. Management experience and a track record of leading a team are required.

What we’re looking for:

  • Superior knowledge of the industry across multiple fashion & accessories disciplines
  • Established roster of senior contacts across trade and consumer press
  • Track record executing successful brand and product launches, fashion shows, presentations & previews, pop-ups, retail events, press trips and press-facing activations
  • Articulate communicator able to manage senior-level client relationships, align on strategy, secure large-scale media wins, and problem-solve in moments of conflict
  • Experience creating and executing strategic brand partnerships, collaborations and large-scale event concepts
  • A growing roster of influencer, stylist and talent contacts
  • Proven leadership skills — growing a team, promoting from within, maintaining staff retention
  • Ability to make critical decisions that shape client campaign success
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to help grow the fashion division

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee the fashion division’s account portfolio — strategy, daily client counsel, and improving campaign outcomes
  • Lead and mentor a results-driven team, including training programs for new hires and top performers on track for promotion
  • Conceptualize and execute strategic bi-annual and long-term PR plans
  • Handle high-level pitching: features, profiles, expert source contribution and thought leadership
  • Lead planning and execution of fashion shows, presentations, retail activations, launch events, press conferences and press trips
  • Expand VIP/celebrity and influencer relations initiatives
  • Review and approve budgets with clients
  • Partner with leadership to identify and hire new talent
  • Travel domestically and internationally for client events

What you bring:

  • 8-10 years of experience in an agency or corporate setting, including luxury fashion clientele
  • Experience managing a division or team
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related field
  • Long tenure at previous positions within the industry
  • Deep experience building and maintaining editor relationships
  • Strong ownership mentality and ability to manage multiple high-profile clients
  • Based in the NYC area, able to commute to the office 5 days/week
