Are you passionate about fashion, creativity, and inspiring young people? Artful Attire is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Fashion Teachers to lead hands-on fashion classes and workshops across our school programs.

As Artful Attire continues to expand into multiple schools, we are building a team of talented Fashion Teachers who can bring our curriculum to life in different classroom settings. Depending on availability and school needs, teachers may have the opportunity to work with multiple schools and on multiple days throughout the week.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in fashion who enjoys working with high school students, and creating an engaging, hands-on learning environment.

Important: This position requires a commitment through June 1, 2027. Please apply only if you are able to commit to the school year.

Duties

  • Lead engaging, hands-on fashion classes and workshops for students.
  • Teach fashion design, sewing, upcycling, clothing customization, and related creative techniques.
  • Guide students through creative projects while encouraging creativity, confidence, and individual expression.
  • Demonstrate and assist students with sewing machines and overlock/serger machines.
  • Maintain a positive, supportive, and organized classroom environment.
  • Adapt instruction to different school environments, student groups, and learning needs.
  • Manage classrooms of approximately 15–18 students.
  • Follow and effectively deliver Artful Attire’s established curriculum and lesson plans.
  • Communicate professionally with Artful Attire staff and school personnel.
  • Assist with classroom setup, materials, and cleanup as needed.
  • Provide coverage for other instructors when needed and available.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience in fashion design, sewing, teaching, youth programming, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Required: Must be able to thread and operate a sewing machine and overlock/serger machine.
  • Strong understanding of basic sewing and garment construction.
  • Comfortable working with students in a classroom setting.
  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom-management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and student needs.
  • Reliable, professional, and comfortable working independently.
  • Passion for fashion, creativity, and helping students develop their skills.
  • Flexible weekday afternoon availability.
  • Must be able to commit to working with Artful Attire through June 1, 2027.

Compensation & Schedule

$40–$50 per class, based on experience, qualifications, and classroom responsibilities.

  • Classes are typically approximately 1 hour.
  • Instruction generally takes place during weekday afternoon hours, between approximately 2:00 PM and 3:30 PM.
  • Instructors may occasionally be asked to arrive early or stay later for setup, cleanup, materials, or other program needs. Total time on-site may occasionally be approximately 1.5 hours.
  • Opportunities may range from 2–4+ classes per week, depending on school programming and instructor availability.
  • Teachers may work at one or multiple school locations.
  • Specific days, class times, and school assignments will vary based on program needs.
  • Additional opportunities may be available to provide coverage for other instructors.
