Role Snapshot:
As a Textile/Fashion Designer at BATIK, you will contribute to the creation of high-quality designs from concept to final sample. You’ll work closely with Team Lead and Category Head to create technical drawings, develop concepts, conduct research, and ensure timely delivery of assigned design tasks. Your creativity, aesthetic sense, and technical expertise will help bring the brand’s vision to life.
A Glimpse Into Your Regular Day:
- Create detailed technical drawings and illustrations for new designs.
- Use Adobe Photoshop (mandatory) and Adobe Illustrator (a strong plus) to develop design concepts.
- Conduct research on trends, fabrics, colors, patterns, and silhouettes.
- Prepare seasonal mood boards and contribute to collection development.
- Follow strict timelines and ensure assigned design targets are met.
- Coordinate regularly with team lead for design discussions and feedback.
- Secure approvals of previous work and maintain proper version records.
- Prepare punching files and follow up for approvals.
- Participate in sample discussions with relevant stakeholders.
- Review and update samples after required modifications.
- Collaborate with production and sampling teams to ensure accuracy and feasibility of designs.
- Apply strong understanding of colors, patterns, and fabrics in all design work.
- Share updated design portfolios when required.
What You Are Expected to Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or Textile Design.
- Atleast 1-2 year’s experience. Applicants with more experience may also apply.
- A strong design portfolio is required.
- Expertise in Adobe Photoshop is mandatory. This is a non-negotiable requirement.
- Experience in Adobe Illustrator will be a plus.
- Strong understanding of textile patterns, prints, colors, and fabrics.
- Ability to create accurate technical drawings and specifications.
- Trend research and forecasting skills.
- Creativity, originality, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work under strict timelines.
- Strong coordination and communication skills for working with team leads and cross-functional teams.
