About the Role
We're looking for a Freelance Apparel Product Developer to work directly with our founder and creative director to bring new products to life.
This isn't a traditional corporate product development role. You'll be one of the first people helping build GoodPark from the inside, partnering closely on everything from concept through production.
We're looking for someone who is equally comfortable reviewing fit samples, refining construction details, sourcing trims, building technical documentation, and communicating with manufacturers.
Our ideal candidate understands how to translate creative ideas into production-ready garments while maintaining the level of quality and attention to detail expected from a premium brand.
What You'll Do
- Partner directly with the founder to develop new products across swimwear, apparel, and accessories
- Create and maintain technical packs, CADs, BOMs, and product specifications
- Lead fit sessions and recommend improvements to construction, fit, and functionality
- Source fabrics, trims, labels, elastics, packaging, and other product details
- Communicate directly with domestic and overseas manufacturers throughout sampling and production
- Review samples and provide clear, actionable factory feedback
- Help establish product development processes as GoodPark continues to grow
- Stay current on premium construction techniques, materials, and industry best practices
What We're Looking For
- 3–5+ years of experience in apparel product development, technical design, or a related role
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, grading, and manufacturing
- Experience creating technical packs and communicating with factories
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and technical CAD creation
- Experience sourcing fabrics and trims
- Exceptional attention to detail and organization
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- NYC-based (preferred) and available to work in person for fittings and product reviews
Experience in premium menswear, swimwear, or contemporary fashion is a plus.
