Overview

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Retail Management team. Our Bloomingdale’s General Manager will be responsible for managing our shop at Bloomingdale’s 59th St. Responsibilities include but are not limited to achieving sales objectives (store and personal sales), maintaining and achieving high operational standards, meeting and exceeding visual merchandising standards, building a highly motivated team, and furthering associates’ skills and clientele base.

This role requires excellent communication both internally and externally and organization skills, with at least 2-3 years’ experience in the Fashion Retail industry (luxury preferred), be sales-driven, have a very clear understanding of KPI’s, ensure company standards are adhered to, inspire, and motivate the teams, and be able to provide an excellent customer experience.

Job Responsibilities

·       Learning, referencing, and applying product knowledge information to recommend, select, and obtain merchandise based on customers’ needs. Communicating product knowledge to Bloomingdale’s partners through PK presentations, both formally and informally.

·       Proactively seeking opportunities to up sell and add-on additional merchandise, while enhancing the customer’s experience, not overwhelming them. Building relationships with top sellers and stylists within the Bloomingdale’s building, assisting in all client appointments.

·       Establishing, meeting, and exceeding sales and performance goals, including intersell and client sales goals. Motivating the sales team to also exceed these goals.

·       Building lasting relationships with customers and expanding the teams’ and personal client book by utilizing Bloomingdale’s b-connected client tool. Connecting with customers and understanding their needs, documenting and communicating customer requests within b-connected.

·       Identifying specific store trends and product needs in your market and communicating these to the merchandising and planning teams. Partnering with the Bloomingdale’s store to understand current trends and client shopping patterns within this specific location.

·       Accurately and efficiently completing and/or overseeing customer purchases and return transactions

·       Watching for, recognizing, and handling loss prevention situations by displaying exemplary customer service and partnering with Bloomingdale’s Asset Protection team.

·       Identifying, planning, communicating, and delegating appropriate responsibilities and practices amongst the sales team.

·       Maintaining knowledge of inventory, scheduling, setting sales goals, and training sales associates on the Z-art experience and operational excellence.

·       Ensuring that store merchandising and visual displays are maintained and consistent with the brand image. Partnering with Bloomingdale’s visual team for “VM moments” throughout the store to be included in.

·       Maintaining clear, concise, and constructive communication lines open between sales team, ZV corporate, and Bloomingdale’s partners and peers.

·       Maximize all store events through partnerships within the store, outreach opportunities, visual merchandising and signage is complete, and utilizing all tools available.

·       Seeking out top talent for the sales team through networking and recruiting.

·       Maintaining employee relations, problem solving, and acting as a sales team leader.

·       Maintaining a professional and positive work environment.

·       Ability to build and maintain a personal client book and meet/exceed personal sales goals.

Education and Training

HS Diploma Required; Associate’s/Bachelor’s degrees preferred

 

Experience

Minimum 3 years’ experience in luxury retail store environment

Minimum 1 year of luxury/retail management
