We are seeking a talented Salon Assistant to join our SPAce Salon team at our location in Astoria, Queens NYC. As a Salon Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and support to our clients and stylists. If you have a passion for the beauty industry and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.
Must Have: NYS Cosmetology License
Duties:
– Assist stylists with various tasks including shampooing, conditioning, and blow-drying hair
– Prepare salon stations for services by sanitizing tools and equipment
– Greet clients and provide them with exceptional customer service, assisting with retail sales and service transactions
– Escort clients to their designated salon stations and offer refreshments
– Assist with hair color application and processing
– Provide support during hair extension application and removal
– Maintain a clean and organized salon environment
– Handle front desk duties such as answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, managing salon software and checking clients in and out
Skills:
– Knowledge of cosmetology practices and techniques
– Front desk experience in a salon or similar environment
– Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
– Familiarity with salon software for appointment scheduling and cashiering
– Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
We will accept applicants that are currently still enrolled in Cosmetology school and/or have a temp license.
