Schedule: 3–4 weekdays (Mon-Fri), 9 AM – 3 PM • Approx. 25 hrs/week • No evenings or weekends

About the Role
Provide professional hair-care services to adult psychiatric in-patients across 10 secure units. You will work from a fully equipped mobile cart (all products & PPE furnished) or the on-site salon, delivering cuts, styles, braids, beard care and limited chemical services that support patients’ dignity, hygiene, and therapeutic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Perform scheduled services from the hospital’s approved menu (Men’s and Women’s cuts, shape-ups, braids/twists, dread maintenance, basic color/perm/relaxers).
Document each service and obtain patient/staff signatures for billing compliance.
Uphold COMAR sanitation standards; sterilize tools between clients.
Attend required paid trainings (facility orientation, CPR, PMAB, Milieu Management, Sexual-Harassment prevention).
Coordinate daily schedule with the Contract Monitor; maintain punctual attendance (≤ 2 missed shifts per month).
Minimum Qualifications
Active Maryland Cosmetologist, Senior Cosmetologist, Master Barber, or Limited Barber license (required on Day 1).
At least 1 year of professional cutting/styling experience; experience in healthcare, corrections, or mobile-salon work a plus.
Pass pre-employment health clearances: TB test, drug screen, MMR & Hep-B immunity, COVID-19 vaccination (or approved exemption).
Ability to obtain Springfield Hospital Center photo-ID badge and clear state background check.
Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable working with mental-health patients in a secure environment.
Able to stand, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs throughout a 6-hour shift.
