Job brief

We are looking for a Barber Shop Receptionist/Front Desk representative to act as the first point of contact for customers who visit or contact our barbershop.

The responsibilities of this position include greeting customers upon their arrival, answering customers’ questions about services via phone, email or in person, up-selling product, booking appointments, managing appointments and processing transactions. This position is also responsible for maintaining a clean and tidy environment throughout barbershop. Assisting in barbershop duties as necessary.

To be successful in this role, you should be highly organized and able to manage customers with a friendly demeanor, even during peak demand. Ability to prioritize tasks and multi-tasking is critical to this role.

Ultimately, you will help boost our reputation by building friendly, trusting, consistent and reliable relationships with customers.

Responsibilities

Warmly greet customers, check them in, and provide instruction upon their arrival
Book, confirm and manage appointments via phone and email – through our designated software system
Process transactions (cash and credit cards) and issue receipts
Offer beverages and friendly dialogue for customers who are waiting for their service provider
Welcome walk-in customers, answer questions about services and schedule appointments based on availability
Inform customers about new services and promotions
Develop high-level knowledge of our service and products. Cross-sell and up-sell services and products
Update customer records with contact and billing details, appointments and services offered
Manage customer inquiries across multiple platforms: phone, e-mail, web
Continuous preparing and maintaining of barber equipment/supplies as needed daily
Assist in maintaining a clean and tidy work environment. Including: Moping, Sweeping, Dusting, Restroom
Maintain laundry (washing & folding) for the business throughout the day- towels, capes, etc

Requirements

Work experience in customer service or similar role (preferred)
Hands-on experience with office equipment (computers, printers, Point of Sale (POS) systems, etc.)
Computer literate, comfortable with navigating software programs, social media, and technology
Excellent communication abilities (verbal, phone and email) with a positive, friendly, customer service attitude
Excellent organization skills
An ability to remain calm under stressful circumstances
Ability stand move around on a consistent basis for long periods of time. Ability to lift up to 30lbs.

High School diploma & USA Citizen
