Job Title: Hair Stylist Apprentice
Overview:
Join our dynamic Redken Black Elite team as a Hair Stylist Apprentice and unleash your creativity in the world of hair styling and beauty. We are looking for a motivated and dependable person to work as at a VERY busy salon. The Apprentice will work with Stylists in all areas: Wash Hair, Prepare Stylists’ Stations, Laundry and General Cleaning, and other duties as needed. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills with a flexible schedule and be a team player. A professional, “can do” attititude with the eagerness to learn and help experienced stylists is preffered.
Responsibilities:
– Perform a wide range of hair styling services including cutting, coloring, and treatments to meet clients’ preferences and enhance their overall appearance.
– Provide personalized consultations to understand clients’ needs, recommend suitable hairstyles, and offer professional advice on hair care.
– Stay updated on the latest trends in hair styling, color theory, and techniques to deliver innovative and high-quality services.
– Practicing cuts and foils on manikans as you have learn them is required during the Apprentice’s downtime.
– Understand and run salon software for appointment scheduling, client management, and inventory tracking.
– Engage in retail sales by recommending and selling hair care products to clients to maintain their salon look at home.
– Maintain a clean and organized work station following sanitation protocols to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for clients.
– Communicate effectively with clients to ensure their satisfaction and build lasting relationships.
Skills:
– Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients.
– Familiarity with salon software for appointment bookings and client management.
– Knowledge of cosmetology principles including color theory, barbering techniques, and makeup application.
– Ability to sanitate workstations and tools according to industry standards.
– Proficiency in retail math for recommending and selling hair care products.
