Hair Stylist – Multi Location: 2-4 days/week – Experience with Seniors Jobs in Fairfax, VA at Southern Luxe Community Salons
A wonderfully unique and upscale salon management company has immediate openings for licensed, seasoned salon professionals to work at multiple locations in Northern Virginia. We are looking for exceptional candidates that can stay with us long-term, are highly invested in their talents and that have a very strong customer service mentality. Employment position is part time.
Work-life balance with no weekends or late evenings required.
Fixed Schedule is Tuesday to Friday, 9:45 am – 4 pm
Busy book of appointments and scheduling concierge service.
Generous pay: hrly or commission (whichever is greater per bi-weekly pay period)
$18/hour (28 hrs per week) or 45% commission (of course also 100% of your tips).
Competitive industry pricing, so commission is not difficult to achieve.
Shampoo/Blow Out pricing is$40 and Haircut /Style package is $75.

Basic Requirements
Licensed Cosmetologist
100% consistent transportation – ability to work between 2 or 3 salons each week (30 minute commute potential)
Rare need to adjust schedule or call out
Exceptional Work Ethic – ability to work the full schedule every day regardless of scheduled service volume. Must be able to wok the full schedule for potential walk ins.
Computer and text/app proficient – helping with salon checkout and appt setting.
Polished, Polite & Pleasant personality
Engaged, Verbal & Outgoing personality that converses with clients while working.
Kind & Compassionate personality
Desire to grow, learn and be involved
Detail oriented and able to self manage
Desire to hold a part-time position for 2 years minimum – this is not temporary contract work.
Experience or familiarity working with seniors and the ability to adjust communication style for those with varying cognitive abilities.
Ability to pass criminal background check and drug test screenings
Some visible tattoos, some facial piercings, and non-natural fashion hair colors (such as pink, green, blue, and purple) are not permitted.
Specific Requirements
Experience with roller sets, perms, relaxers, color formulations, teasing; both traditional bouffant sets (with teasing & spray) and modern natural finishing styles as well as precision short style hair cutting.
Must perform successful consultations and adjust communication style to the client.
Must also perform basic nail services when needed – manicures and pedicure with regular polish and gel polish services. Training provided, no tips or artificial nail services needed.
Must be efficient and experienced with service timing (30 minute shampoo & finishing style).
Must be able to effectively communicate and give direction to others, handle client relations and events, multi-task and preplan.
Must be proficient in written, email and fax communications with daily text capability and availability to communicate with managers during business and occasional non-business hours. Employees are required to be very comfortable texting and emailing from personal cell phone.
Must be computer proficient and able to quickly learn new systems.
Position requires employee to be highly organized and able to prioritize both fast and slow paced workflow.
Participation in company functions and certification training required.
Position involves client relationship building, organization, salon account mngmt and self promotion.
