Overview
Responsible to provide a professional service for hair, as well as salon services in accordance with the standards and procedures of the Spa; must have a basic knowledge of salon techniques and actively contributes to the retail of product available. Always cultivating and maintaining a professional attitude. Responsible for providing and promoting spa treatments, customer satisfaction treatment service standards, hygiene and cleanliness and equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Maintain complete knowledge of and compliance with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
- Ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis.
- Know all safety and fire procedures.
- Provide a courteous, professional, efficient service and an incomparable service.
- Compete each of the functions and tasks listed in the Service Manual.
- Inspect the area of treatments at the beginning of each shift and after each treatment, ensuring it meets standards and contains all necessary products, amenities, towels, and other items.
- Maintain a clean, disinfected and organized work area at all times.
- Verify and restock the area of amenities of the spa at the beginning, during and at the end of each shift.
- Clean salon/nail room between clients and set up the nail area for the next client in accordance with spa standard set-up requirements.
- Ensure that all members receive the Spa customer experience.
- Maintain inventory products.
- Schedule guest appointments and fill in client history records for each client treated.
- Verify medical releases from guests with applicable medical conditions.
- Conduct appointments according to guest’s comfort, desire and wellness goals.
- Follow service protocol.
- Prepare guest consultation.
- Be thoroughly familiar and able to recommend Spa products and treatments as well as know pertinent hotel information.
- Sanitize implements.
- Verify the condition of the facilities and the equipment of the Spa, and report any damage immediately to the Spa Director.
- Execute the standards of the Spa in the arrangement of decoration and distribution of amenities.
- Undertake all necessary preparations for the service of the Spa in the salon to ensure that all necessary material for the treatment is ready.
- Offer a warm welcome to the guest, accompany them to the requested area, and maintain guest flow within the Spa.
- Anticipate the needs of the guest, respond precisely, preserve guest privacy at all times, and maintain a positive relationship with the guest.
- Offer a customized service to the guest.
- Perform a professional service of nails, hand and foot treatments, and massage techniques.
- Explain to the guest the benefits and procedures of treatments, based on thorough product knowledge.
- Apply products in the treatment in agreement with time measurements.
- Provide product recommendation and advantage explanation.
- Offer proper home care solutions.
- Retail additional spa products.
- Attend meetings if required.
- Maintain a calm and courteous attitude at all times.
- Handle cleaning materials safely and according to department rules.
- Assist other staff as needed.
- Attend all departmental and general staff meetings.
- Comply with company policies.
- Work within all pre-set budgetary limits.
- Take on other tasks within a reasonable framework.
- Develop and update policies and manuals for implementation in the field, ensuring consistency across the group.
- Act as a brand ambassador and maintain brand integrity and clarity.
- Model the company’s culture, vision, mission, and core values at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma; diploma or degree in a related field.
- Certified massage therapist, esthetician or salon technician.
- Technical skills: high-level nail care, manicure, pedicure and gel removal.
- Certified Nail Technician – valid Cosmetology License per local/country regulations.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Nail Technician in a luxury spa or salon environment, preferably within a luxury hotel.
- Technical knowledge of wellness, spa and fitness industry.
- Experience with TAC or Spa Soft is an asset.
