Hairstylist Job Qualifications and skills:
– Knows hair cutting, hairstyling, and hair coloring best practices.
– Experience using different types of scissors, trimmers and other tools to create hairstyles.
– Communicates clearly and has a strong active listening skills.
– Builds long-term relationships with clients and has excellent social skills.
– Collaborates with other hair stylists and is a team-player.
– Works confidently in a fast-paced salon, has good time- management skills, is punctual, and is detail oriented.
– An understanding of the different types of hairstyles a person can request and how to achieve those looks.
– A willingness to learn about new styles and techniques.
Hairstylist Job Responsibilities:
– Help clients decide their ideal haircut and hairstyle.
– Completes hair cutting techniques, including trims, layers, and texturizing.
– Perform hair coloring methods, such as highlights.
– Styles hair, including blowouts, curls, and updos.
– Develops ongoing relationships with clients.
– Keeps a clean station and sanitizes all tools.
– Follows all salon policies and procedures.
