JOB TYPE: Independent Contractor – Tuesday to Friday (9:00am-4:00pm), potentially Saturdays dependent on demand
Rates will vary based on rates charged and number of residents seen per day. This is a contract position and the successful applicant will be a contractor with their own insurances as applicable. The rates that will be charged to our residents will be discussed upon hire.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Reporting to the General Manager and/or designate, the Hairstylist is responsible for providing professional facility-wide hair services. Services are delivered to residents within the framework of a predominantly elderly community with diverse ethnic and cultural experiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include but not limited to:
Cutting, trimming, and setting hair for male and female residents.
Permanent
Hair Dying
Blowout – different styles and curls
Female cut
Male cut in scissors and machine
QUALIFICATIONS:
Business license to operate
Barbicide course
Hair Stylist Course
Previous experience working with the elderly is an asset.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to work independently and as a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Gentle, positive, calm attitude, and sensitivity to the needs and feelings of the elderly.
