The Role

Head of Design

Location: Culver City, Los Angeles (In-person)

We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Head of Design to lead our in-person design team in Culver City. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will manage and inspire the design team while overseeing the entire creative process — from client ideation through product design, production, and manufacturing.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in graphic, product or fashion design, with a flair for turning innovative ideas into tangible products. You will own the creative direction for each brand portfolio, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines while offering fresh, strategic design solutions. This role also involves cross-team collaboration and leading client presentations.

Please note: This is a creative operations leadership role, not a typical graphic designer position.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the full creative pipeline: from client brainstorming and product ideation to production file creation and overseeing manufacturing processes

Create design mockups, concepts, graphics, and illustrations using Adobe Creative Suite

Review production files and artwork with precision, including die lines, templates, proofs, manufacturing files, and PMS color matching

Determine the best decoration methods for various garments and products

Lead client communications and present design concepts confidently both virtually and in-person

Assist in developing marketing materials as needed (newsletters, social media content, etc.)

Qualifications:

Proven experience in graphic or product design with a strong portfolio

Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat

Solid knowledge of the Pantone Matching System (PMS) and experience converting RGB/CMYK to PMS colors

Exceptional organizational skills to manage complex creative operations with multiple moving parts

Confidence in client-facing situations and ability to lead conversations

Collaborative team player with strong self-motivation

Ability to take construction feedback well and run with it

Nice to Have:

Familiarity with the promotional product industry and various decoration methods

Familiarity with CommonSKU, SAGE, and other promotional product platforms
