This role is ideal for a strong leader with broad knowledge in the garments, fashion retail, and apparel industry, capable of managing multiple departments, guiding existing managers and supervisors, and ensuring efficient operations from product development to shipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams.
- Oversee end-to-end garment and apparel operations from product development to final shipment.
- Manage and guide existing managers and department leads.
- Ensure proper planning, costing, sourcing, production, quality control, and shipment monitoring.
- Improve lead times, cost efficiency, production output, and on-time shipment performance.
- Anticipate potential problems early in the critical path and provide preventive solutions.
- Manage risks, production delays, material shortages, and contingency plans.
- Review and understand technical packs, spec sheets, Bill of Materials, measurement charts, and sample requirements.
- Monitor sample stages, including proto sample, fit sample, and pre-production sample.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of BOM and technical requirements.
- Apply knowledge of AQL standards, inspection procedures, common defects, root causes, and testing requirements.
- Challenge unrealistic timelines, risky fabric choices, and incomplete technical packs when necessary.
- Connect technical garment details to sound business and operational decisions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Business Management, Operations Management, Fashion/Apparel Management, or any related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of managerial experience in garment production, apparel operations, fashion retail operations, or related industries.
- Strong background in garments manufacturing, apparel supply chain, production planning, costing, quality control, merchandising, purchasing, and logistics.
- Strong understanding of global apparel supply chains, including sourcing from countries such as Vietnam, China, Bangladesh, or other major garment-producing markets.
- Knowledgeable in FOB, landed cost, logistics planning, material booking, production monitoring, and shipment coordination.
- Familiar with technical packs, BOM, sample development, AQL standards, garment defects, inspection processes, and compliance requirements.
- Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to manage teams, improve efficiency, reduce delays, control costs, and achieve operational targets.
