Head of Marketing & Ecommerce Jobs in Australia and New Zealand at ETISK – ecommerce & retail recruitment
Title: Head of Marketing & Ecommerce
Company: ETISK – ecommerce & retail recruitment
Location: Australia and New Zealand
- Head of Marketing & Ecommerce
- Fashion and lifestyle brand | 2IC to the founder
- Fully remote, Australia
Our client is a founder-led Australian fashion and lifestyle brand. It’s the kind of business the industry quietly admires: a product customers are loyal to, a brand with a genuine point of difference, and consistent profitable growth built without outside money. It has reached the point most successful founder-led brands hit eventually: the business has outgrown the way it’s run.
Right now the marketing and ecommerce engine runs through the founder, alongside everything else a founder carries. Decisions queue behind one person, opportunities wait, and the business moves slower than its potential. The next stage needs a genuine second in command: someone to take that whole engine on, own it completely, and bring expertise beyond what’s already in the building.
That’s this role.
It’s a broad seat, deliberately. You’ll set the direction and you’ll also make it happen, because this is a lean team where strategy and execution are the same job.
If you’ve done your best work inside businesses like that, read on.
What you’d own
- Marketing strategy and the calendar that drives trading: launches, campaigns and peak trading moments planned across the year and landed on time, on brand, on budget
- The Shopify store day to day: trading, merchandising, conversion and the full customer journey from first click to repeat purchase
- Email, SMS and retention through Klaviyo, with loyalty initiatives in the pipeline ready to be built and launched
- Social as a proper growth channel: strong creative already exists, what’s missing is the analysis behind it, reading what the numbers say and deciding what changes next
- Paid performance strategy, budgets and accountability, with specialists running the channels
- International growth, with the US the priority: the market entry, the localisation and the realistic timeline to do it properly
A lean team of specialists and contractors across email, paid, content and design reports to you, and you’re their first point of call, so the founder isn’t.
Who this suits
Two things matter most.
1) You’ve been inside a consumer brand as it scaled from established to serious, the stretch where roughly $10M/$20M becomes $30M, $40M, $50M or beyond, whether you led that scaling or were a senior part of the team that did, so you know what breaks along the way and bring answers that aren’t already in the room.
2) You’ve helped take an Australian brand into the US: launched it, localised it, and understand the real timeline, the opportunities and the traps.
Around those two, the shape of the person: you get female fashion and lifestyle product, the customer, what she cares about, why she buys, why she comes back.
Worth knowing: this is a business unusually far ahead on AI. It’s used daily, it’s threaded through how the team works, and they want someone who’ll push it further rather than need convincing.
Why you’d take it
Because of where it goes.
This is the most senior seat in the business after the founder, and it’s being created by someone who has decided, deliberately, to hand over a whole engine and back the person who takes it.
Founders at this stage don’t need convincing to delegate. Do this well and the role grows with the business.
You’d be getting the stretch of a scale-up with the security of a profitable business, a founder who backs good people, and a fully remote set-up the team has run properly for years, not since last summer.
The practical bits
Remote – you can be based anywhere in Australia. Salary is genuinley open for someone who brings more than expected!
