Job Description:
As the Procurement Head for Luxury International Retail Fashion Brands based in Mumbai, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement activities related to projects within the luxury retail sector. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in civil engineering and a strong understanding of procurement processes in the luxury retail industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement Planning: Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with the company’s objectives and project requirements. Collaborate with senior management to define procurement strategies that optimize cost-efficiency and quality.
Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and select vendors and suppliers for various project requirements. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials and services.
Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions. Ensure that all procurement contracts comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Cost Management: Monitor and control project budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial targets. Identify opportunities for cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or timelines.
Quality Assurance: Work closely with project teams to define quality standards and specifications for materials and services. Implement quality assurance measures to ensure that all procurement activities meet the required standards.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges in procurement processes and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project timelines and budgets.
Compliance and Ethics: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all procurement activities. Conduct regular audits and reviews to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the procurement team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Mentor team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Master’s degree or MBA in Supply Chain Management or Procurement is a plus.
Minimum 15 to 25 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on procurement, preferably in the luxury retail or fashion industry.
Proven track record of success in managing procurement activities for large-scale projects, preferably in the retail sector.
Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship management skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in MS Office and procurement software systems.
