Job Title: Head of Production

The Head of Production is responsible for overseeing end-to-end production across men’s and women’s categories. This role leads production execution from development handoff through bulk delivery, ensuring on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and product integrity. The Head of Production will manage production calendars, sourcing strategy, and manufacturing partnerships while collaborating closely with design and product development teams to execute collections at the highest standard.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in global sourcing and manufacturing, a strong command of costing and negotiation, and the ability to operate as a decisive partner to the creative team—balancing brand vision with executional discipline. This individual must be highly solutions-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing complexity across calendars, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Calendar Management

  • Own and manage the production calendar across all categories, ensuring alignment with design, development, sales, and delivery milestones
  • Drive adherence to deadlines across internal teams and external partners
  • Identify risks early and implement solutions to maintain on-time delivery

Product Development Partnership

  • Partner closely with Design and Product Development to ensure product concepts are executed efficiently and cost-effectively
  • Provide early input on feasibility, construction, and cost implications during development
  • Push for clarity, alignment, and decision-making to keep development and production on schedule

Sourcing & Vendor Management

  • Lead global sourcing strategy across all categories
  • Manage and evaluate vendor performance on quality, cost, speed, and reliability
  • Continuously identify new sourcing opportunities to improve capabilities and margins

Costing, Negotiation & Margin Management

  • Own costing process from development through production
  • Lead complex and high-stakes negotiations, including pricing, liabilities, and capacity commitments
  • Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities without compromising design integrity or product quality
  • Strong ability to navigate complex negotiations while maintaining long-term partnerships

Manufacturing Oversight

  • Oversee bulk production to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with brand standards
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement timely, effective solutions
  • Monitor factory capacity planning and allocation across seasons

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Operate as a strong, respected voice across Creative, Development, Merchandising, and Production
  • Maintain productive tension with the creative team—supportive of vision but firm on deadlines, costs, and feasibility
  • Hold teams accountable to milestones while fostering a collaborative and solutions-driven environment

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in apparel production, with strong expertise in cut-and-sew, knitwear, and wovens categories
  • Proven leadership experience managing production teams and global vendor networks
  • Deep knowledge of garment construction, costing, and manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated success in negotiation and margin management
  • Strong understanding of production calendars and critical path management
  • Experience operating in a contemporary or premium apparel brand, preferably within a founder-led or design-driven environment
