In-Store Sales Assistant

Vancouver, BC | Full-Time | In-Person

If you’re the kind of person who can’t help but chat to people, enjoys being out and about, and would rather be in the action than stuck behind a screen — this might be right up your street.

Distinct Vancouver is growing its in-store team and looking for people who bring good energy, strong people skills, and a willingness to get involved.

What This Job Actually Feels Like

You’ll be based in busy retail environments — think pop-up stands, in-store campaigns, and branded setups where people are already shopping and open to conversation.

Your job isn’t to “hard sell.”

It’s to:

  • Start natural conversations
  • Make people feel comfortable
  • Explain things in a way that actually makes sense
  • Help someone walk away thinking, “that was easy”

Some days are fast-paced and buzzing, others are more steady — but you’ll always be doing something active, social, and different.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Talking to people. A lot. (In a good way.)
  • Representing brands in a way that feels genuine, not scripted
  • Turning interest into action by keeping things clear and simple
  • Working toward daily goals with your team (and celebrating when you hit them)
  • Keeping your space looking sharp and inviting
  • Learning what works, what doesn’t, and getting better every week

Why People Tend to Stick With This Role

  • You build confidence quickly — it’s hard not to
  • You’re not micromanaged, but you are supported
  • You can see your progress week by week
  • The team environment actually feels like a team
  • No two days feel exactly the same

What You’ll Get

  • Competitive weekly earnings with bonuses and commissions — average around £800 per week – This will be discussed more during interview after skills and availability have been reviewed.
  • Full training (so you’re never thrown in the deep end)
  • Ongoing coaching to help you improve and progress
  • A social, upbeat environment where effort is recognised
  • Opportunities to step into more responsibility as you grow

Who This Works Well For

  • People who enjoy talking, listening, and being around others
  • Anyone bored of repetitive or desk-based work
  • Those who want to build confidence and real-world skills
  • Candidates with retail, hospitality, or customer-facing experience (helpful, not essential)

Let’s Keep It Simple

If you like working with people, want a role that keeps you moving, and enjoy seeing the results of your effort — you’ll probably enjoy this.
