About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Styling Instructor to join our Fashion Department. The ideal candidate is an industry professional with strong expertise in fashion styling, creative direction, and visual storytelling, and is excited to mentor the next generation of fashion professionals.
The instructor will deliver engaging, hands on classes while helping students develop both their creative vision and professional skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lectures, demonstrations, and practical assignments.
- Guide students through editorial, commercial, personal, and fashion styling projects.
- Provide constructive feedback and evaluate student performance.
- Create an inclusive, supportive, and professional learning environment.
- Stay current with fashion trends, industry practices, and emerging technologies.
- Participate in faculty meetings, student evaluations, and department activities as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 – 7 years of professional experience in fashion styling, wardrobe styling, costume styling, editorial styling, or a related field.
- Previous teaching, mentoring, or training experience is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of fashion history, trends, color theory, body shapes, wardrobe planning, and visual merchandising.
- Experience with editorial shoots, lookbooks, campaigns, or commercial productions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to inspire creativity while maintaining academic standards.
- Diploma or degree in Fashion, Styling, Costume Design, or a related discipline is preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with photographers, makeup artists, creative directors, and production teams.
- Knowledge of current fashion industry practices and AI tools relevant to creative work.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating professional styling projects.
- Industry connections and professional experience are considered an asset.
