Jewellery/Product Designer based in Bangkok with regular trips to Singapore

Forbidden Hill is a Singapore-based jewellery brand. We are looking for a Thai-speaking jewellery designer, or a product designer with an interest in jewellery. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter with ideas and creativity, as well as strong design skills. This is a great opportunity for a Thai-based designer looking for international exposure. You will help to develop our unique jewellery collections, which feature several design innovations including a patent pending feature. Your role will involve conceptualising, designing and rendering jewellery designs for new collections, as well as expanding existing collections. There will also be the opportunity to help develop our homeware accessories line at a later stage.

You will be based in Bangkok, however our studio is in Singapore in the vibrant neighbourhood of Keong Saik Rd. You will have the opportunity to visit Singapore on a regular basis to work in our studio with the team, across different areas of the business. For the rest of the time, you will connect virtually to the team in Singapore. It is critical that you have a good command of English and are comfortable with communicating through various online platforms.

From time to time, you may be asked to visit our Thai-speaking production partners in the region, as well as trade shows and suppliers in Bangkok.

Your responsibilities will include:

Developing jewellery designs for new and existing collections, including:

Concept development through research and exploration, both on your own and in collaboration with other team members

Fleshing out design concepts through hand-sketching and moodboards

Creatingand refining 3D models of selected designs in CAD software

Drafting detailed production guidelines for physical sample production

Coordinating sample production with our workshops around the region

Conducting quality checks of samples and drafting detailed feedback for production improvement, when required

Creating high quality photorealistic renders of the designs (training will be provided if needed)

Participating in trade shows and events to gather direct learnings from customers

Sourcing for materials for our jewellery, such as the Thai silk in our signature collections

For this role, we are looking for candidates with:

Diploma or above in Jewellery or Product Design or related disciplines

Ability to speak and write in English

Good hand-sketching ability

Skills in the following software:

Proficiency in CAD Modelling Software (e.g. Rhino, Fusion 360, or other) is a must

Experience in Photoshop is a must

Experience in Illustrator is a plus

Experience in photo-realistic rendering software (e.g. Keyshot or other) is also a plus
