Location: South DublinAzon Recruitment Group are currently working with their client, a leading Irish Housebuilder. Together we are searching for a Junior Buyer to join their Procurement and Estimating Team in South Dublin.

As a Junior Buyer, you will play a crucial role in the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services required for our construction projects. You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms and conditions, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Relationship Management:

Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers.

Negotiate terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.

Analyse price and data to make informed purchasing decisions.

Sourcing and Procurement:

Source and procure equipment and materials in accordance with project specifications and production requirements.

Evaluate potential suppliers for quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Procure materials/sub-contract packages such as doors, sanitary ware, internal finishes, carpentry, and all other fixtures required.

Team Communication:

Communicate effectively within a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to ensure project success.

Purchase Order Management:

Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Track and expedite orders to meet production and project timelines.

Issue Resolution:

Resolve issues related to shortages, overages, or quality discrepancies promptly and efficiently.

Daily Operations:

Order materials and raise purchase orders for sites on a daily basis.

Purchase materials/tools for sites.

Hire plant/tools for sites.

Invoice Management:

Check and authorise supplier invoices, raising any queries on discrepancies or unsuccessful deliveries.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred / Desired.

Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management is advantageous.

Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.

Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.

Knowledge of construction materials and processes is desirable.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks efficiently.
