We have a new opportunity within our Karen Millen Soft Wovens Buying team. We are seeking a passionate and agile Junior Buyer to work alongside a strong team of Buyers and Senior Buyers and work with peers across Merchandising and Design on this high profile department.

You will be expected to strategise, range build and trade your own department as well as manage junior team members and travel regularly to meet with suppliers.

Our interview process is usually 2 stages. An initial meeting with the Line Manager and the 2nd stage is a final meeting with the Buying Manager or Head of Buying with a task to prepare on key trends.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Junior Buyer you will be responsible for range building, planning and trading your own department. You will have ownership from first initial concept all the way to final seal of the product.

You will present your ranges to the Senior Leadership team in sign offs as well as your longer-term plans for your product area.

Reports and effectively communicates all key information in trading meetings to buyer and director level.

Generates ideas and suggestion to impact the business with reference to promotions and mark downs.

Monitors stock covers on single lines.

Develops basic understanding of WSSI by close cooperation with buyer and merchandising team.

Builds strong relationships with peers across Design and Merchandising.

Supports Buyers with the development of more junior team members.

Supports Senior Buyers to develop new strategies for the business and department.

Completes buying trips as needed- both in the UK and internationally.

More About You

As a Junior Buyer you will have a positive, can-do attitude with the ability to work to tight deadlines. You will have excellent industry knowledge, be current and ahead at identifying trends and commercial wins for the brand.

You’ll also have:

Experience working at Senior Assistant Buyer or existing Junior Buyer level within a fashion retail business.

Ladieswear fashion product experience – preferably in softs or wovens.

Always looks to improve the department’s operation and increase knowledge of own and related job functions.
