Job Title: Junior Interior Designer
Job Overview: As a Junior Interior Designer, you will support the design team by assisting with various tasks across multiple project phases. Your role will encompass a variety of responsibilities, from assisting with design and documentation to client communication and social media management. You will work closely with senior team members to ensure that all aspects of the design process run smoothly, while also contributing to the overall marketing and business development efforts of the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Documentation:
Assist in most phases of design, from conceptual development to project completion.
Draft preliminary, bid, and full drawing sets in Revit.
Create custom furniture models and renderings using Revit and Enscape.
Mark up and review drawings, submittals, shop drawings and specifications with senior designers.
Update and maintain Revit templates and design standards.
Source, select, and reselect finishes, fixtures, and furniture for projects.
Create furniture installation plans.
Manage project-specific design boards and presentations.
Coordinate and communicate design intent using Goodnotes and digital tools.
Support the creation of logos and branding for projects.
Project Management & Coordination:
Attend job meetings, calls, and finish summits to take notes and provide support.
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and clients to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Assist with project installations, including styling and direction of furniture placement.
Order, label, and create sample packets, ensuring proper documentation and shipping.
Submit completed submittals to Procore or directly to GCs as needed.
Help manage project timelines and deadlines, ensuring clients are kept informed.
Marketing & Business Development:
Assist with marketing tasks such as applying for industry awards and recognitions.
Manage the company’s social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn), ensuring content is up to date and engaging.
Attend industry networking events (NEWH, IIDA etc)
Administrative Support:
Help organize and archive design documents and communications as needed.
Sift through and organize emails for senior designers, flagging or archiving as necessary.
Manage internal documentation, including logging personal and senior team member’s time in Studio Designer.
Assist with the shipping and receipt of samples and other project materials.
Skills & Qualifications:
Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, etc.).
Basic understanding of design concepts, space planning, and interior design principles.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Proficiency in using digital tools for coordinating design intent (Adobe Creative Suite, Google Slides, Canva).
Knowledge of project management tools and software (Procore, Studio Designer, Motion) is a plus.
Experience with client and vendor relations.
